Vermont Rocker is dedicated to bringing you the highest quality
Early American and Colonial reproductions possible, along with
many originally-designed items.
Whether you own a log home or
not, you appreciate the value of decorating with handmade products.
We use natural materials to create
Vermont rocking chairs - both adult and childlren's chairs, dining
chairs, buckets, butter churns, shaker stools and benches, mirrors,
lamps and more. Some items may be in limited quantity at times
due to the availability of materials required to produce them.
Vermont Rocker is located in
Montgomery Center in north central Vermont, very close to the
Canadian border. Jay Peak ski area is also a short drive up the
hill from town.
Spectacular views year-round
make it a beautiful place to visit. The peace and quiet of the
mountains make it a craftsman's dream.
Most items I produce are termed primitives
because of the era from which they stem and the tools used in
producing them. Everything begins with a log and becomes a useful
piece as I take it through the process with all the various hand
tools.
Most early items were made to
be functional and put into use. Most with a very rustic or rough
appearance. Others were taken a step further and more refined.
It all depended on the craftsman's pride and expertise with the
tools at hand. While I employ the same primitive tools in my
work, I am not usually satisfied to bring them just to a rough
functional state.
Something in my creative nature
pushes me to bring them to a more refined stage, more pleasing
to the eye as an heirloom piece.
With the actual antiques disappearing
more every day, I am now pleased to offer my authentic reproductions
of many of these items to the world.
Living what you love creates
a quality product. Keep checking back on the website, as more
new items will be added as frequently as time allows. |
